Danny norris (6) from Ballymacarbery, Waterford has Stage 4 High Risk Neuroblastoma.

Having gone through months of gruelling treatments including chemotherapy, radiation, kidney removal surgery, stem cell tasnplant, bone marrow aspirates and blood transfusions, on one occasion his parents, things finally seem to be going Danny’s way.

However the relapse rate for Danny’s condition is high – at 60%. If Danny relapses, he cannot undergo the same treatment again and he has just 10% chance of survival second time around – which is a startling statistic for his parents Lar and Lisa Norris and Danny’s brothers Charlie (10), and Shay (8).

His hearty laugh and smiley face, have kept the family going through some tough days

There is a vaccine in the USA which is in trial at the moment – and is the best chance of a cancer free life for Danny. The new trial is actively accruing and is 5 years in length. If eligible, Danny would receive 14 injections of the vaccine: 7 in year 1, 4 in year 2, and 1 in years 3, 4, and 5.

Unfortunately it costs €380,00, is not available in Ireland and insurance companies won’t cover it. So the family must raise these funds themselves.

“Danny shows unbelievable courage & strength of character every day. His hearty laugh and smiley face, have kept the family going through some tough days. To us he really is a little star and we couldn’t be prouder of him and his brothers,” says mum Lisa.

Danny needs the public’s help to get him the further treatment he needs. A Go Fund Me Page has been sent up for donations, please give whatever you can – https://gofund.me/ec437446
