Teen robbed using fake gun

    A Garda investigation has been launched after a young teen had their mobile phone robbed by a group of thugs alleged to have used a replica gun during the incident.

    A 16 year old was the victim of the robbery which occurred in Carlow town in April. The young male was threatened by a group of youths walking on the Burrin Road, who ordered him to hand over his phone. It is alleged that a gun, or a replica, was used.

    It is reported that a gun or replica was produced during the incident.”

    A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardai in Carlow are investigating the robbery of a mobile phone from a 16 year old male youth in Carlow town. It is reported that a gun or replica was produced during the incident.”

    “The youth left the scene unharmed and contacted Gardai. All of the circumstances of the incident are under investigation. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Carlow Garda station (059) 9136620 or the confidential line 1800 666 111.
