There was a full house in the Glenview Hotel on Wednesday 6th October as Purple House Cancer Support hosted a free public information talk by Dr. Mary Flynn, CORU Registered Dietician.
The topic of the talk was ‘Food, Nutrition & Cancer, What We Know Now’ and Dr. Flynn spoke about the links between food and Cancer, and showed the most up to date scientific research in this area.
Dr Mary Flynn is a Registered Dietitian who has worked in Ireland, Canada and the Middle East. Throughout her career she has tackled the challenges posed by obesity, heart disease, cancer and diabetes. She has developed innovative prevention and treatment programs reducing risks of these diseases for people of all ages and from diverse backgrounds.
The free public information talk was part of Purple House’s Cancer Education Service and is one of the services that are provided thanks to the support of the Community, alongside Purple House’s Psycho-Oncology, Psycho-Social and Survivorship Support Services to people living with Cancer in the Community.
