MORGAN Mansfield, from Co Waterford, travelled to war-torn Syria in 2017 and saw active service in the fight against Isis, the so-called Islamic state.
His story has been told in a documentary film, Óglach Rojava, which will be given a special showing in Dungarvan on Saturday, November 30.
Morgan, from An Sean Phobal, fought with Kurdish forces in defence of Kurdish cities and communities. He will introduce the screening and answer questions afterwards.

A number of Irish paramedics and medical personnel are active in Syria at the moment working with Kurdish humanitarian organisations in the wake of the Turkish invasion last month. This event will raise funds to support their work and to help provide essential equipment and material to the Kurdish Red Crescent.
All are welcome to see this first hand account of the situation in Syria and the Kurdish territories.
