THERE’S a new Committee in the City, who have been working away quietly, on our behalf.

The Tidy Towns Committee believes Waterford can win this prestigious award within the next five or six years “It’s all about creating a bit of pride in the city centre,”says the Chair of the Committee, Michael Garland.

The group has been meeting fortnightly, in Boxworks, planning the process which will tie in with annual favourites such as City In Bloom, Summer In The City, Harvest Festival, Winterval, and Waterford Walls.

The committee has approached all the businesses in the city centre and Purple Flag Zone to ask them to get involved. Businesses are being asked to ‘keep their business fronts clean and tidy’ by signing up to a Tidy Towns Charter.
