WATERFORD Chamber is urging people to shop local this Christmas.

At its November Business After Hours in Musgrave Marketplace it launched this year’s Waterford Gift Vouchers.

“We are asking all members to consider giving the gift of choice this Christmas,” said Jonathan Earl, Waterford Chamber President.

“You can be guaranteed by giving a Waterford Gift Voucher, the money will be spent locally. They are a great gift idea, but also a fantastic way to reward staff and of course they offer a tax emption, which is no bad thing.”

He said the Chamber was proud to be pushing a Shop Local campaign this Christmas.

LIONS: Mayor John Pratt launched the Waterford Lions Club Christmas Hamper Appeal, the club’s biggest fundraiser. All the money raised will be spent on on providing food for the hampers which will go to 1,230 homes in Waterford city and surrounding areas, distributed by the St. Vincent de Paul.
