A NEW Mass setting, will be celebrated for the first time in Waterford on Sunday, June 9.
The Mass of the Déise will have its first outing in the Cathedral Of The Most Holy Trinity, Barronstrand Street, at the 12 noon Mass.
The Mass setting was written by Waterford lyricist Buddy Sutton and Tom Conroy (Piano Man Tom) from Co. Laois. Buddy and Tom have written many songs together and they have also finished a new musical, entitled A Mighty Catch, with Dan E Hyland. They hope to have it on stage in Dublin in November .
The Mass will feature choir members from the Cathedral Choir, Waterford, St Michael’s Choir, Clonaslee Church Choir and Clonaghadoo Church Choir.
The new Mass setting will be celebrated by Bishop Alphonsus Cullinan.
The new Mass setting will also be celebrated live from RTE Studios Dublin on August 4 at 11am.
