Mychild.ie is designed to be a one-stop-shop where parents can access accurate and trusted information and advice on pregnancy and all the way through the first three years of their child’s life. The website was launched alongside three new books for parents. The new ‘My Pregnancy’ book is a 224 page guide that will be given to pregnant women at their first antenatal appointment from early 2019. Parents will then receive the next books in sequence, ‘My Child: 0 to 2 years’ and ‘My Child: 2 to 5 years’, from their public health nurse. See mychild.ie for more information. PHOTO: Mark Stedman

A NEW HSE campaign has introduced mychild.ie, the new pregnancy, baby and toddler health website and books.

These are all provided free of charge by HSE teams as they care for parents-to-be in pregnancy, and for parents, babies and toddlers during early years.

We all want what’s best for our child

Dr Kevin Kelleher, Assistant National Director for Public Health/Child Health, said:

“Becoming a parent is one of the most exciting, and challenging times in life, a time that naturally brings a lot of questions. We all want what’s best for our child and to know that we are getting the right advice from a reliable source.”

He said the HSE’s mychild.ie books and website were designed to be a one-stop-shop where parents can get accurate and trusted information on pregnancy and all the way through the first three years of their child’s life.

“Whether you’re a first-time parent, or are facing a refresher course, we want to help you with expert advice for every step,” he said.
