THE Fianna Fáil National Constituencies Committee has confirmed that Councillor Malcolm Byrne will contest the forthcoming bye-election for Wexford.
Speaking following his confirmation, Cllr Byrne said: “I am honoured to be given the opportunity to contest this bye-election for Fianna Fáil and ask the people of Wexford for their vote to represent them in Dáil Éireann.
a real opportunity to send a message to the Government
“The forthcoming bye-election is a real opportunity to send a message to the Government, that it has failed to deliver on its promises and it is time for a change of leadership.
“Following my recent re-election to Wexford County Council and campaign to become an MEP for Ireland South, in which I was honoured to receive almost 70,000 first preference votes, I have heard first-hand the dissatisfaction with a Government that is completely out of touch with people in towns and villages.
